About this Momma

Momma & Baby in Thailand
St. Patrick’s Day 2009, would change my life forever. The boy was born and on that day and it marked the start of my newest, most important job, it was the day I became a Mother. A friend once told me that having a child is like wearing your heart on your sleeve, vulnerable and visible to everyone around you, although I understood her in theory, it wasn’t until the day my Son was born that I realized just how true that was.

As a parent we all want whats best for our children. We want them to grow up with love and understanding, to have things we didn’t have and to grow into caring compassionate human beings.

I grew up without much money and I know that having “things” does not equate to happiness or to a better life, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting the best for my little man. That being said, I don’t want the best at any cost, I want the best at a good price.

In my “other life” I live in Vancouver BC and work in environmental services and as such things that are natural and have minimal impact on the Earth are important to me, and these days there is a plethora of such items for babies and children. I try and buy natural products when I can, but the price is often prohibitive; some things are definitely worth paying a little extra for, and other products I end up disappointed in, and that doesn’t just refer to natural products. I think this struggle of balancing the needs of our children with the wants we have for them, is something all Momma’s wrestle with.
